BIOCHIP
Project “Biochip for the Rapid Diagnosis and Follow-up of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia in the General Population,” under the former Campania Region Call for Proposals “Technology Transfer and Initial Industrialization Projects for Innovative, High-Potential Companiesin the Fight Against Cancer – Campania Terra del Buono,” funded under the Campania ERDF Regional Operational Program (ROP) 2014–2020
TME is the lead partner of the public-private consortium, which includes the Department of Molecular Medicine and Medical Biotechnology at the University of Naples “Federico II” and the CNR Institute for Microelectronics and Microsystems. This consortium is the recipient of a grant to carry out the R&D project “Biochip,” whose objective is to develop a diagnostic tool for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) capable of providing rapid results, at a low cost, and offering ease of use and portability for point-of-care testing, which can also be used by healthcare professionals without specific expertise in biomolecular diagnostics.
The industrial research and experimental development activities carried out by TME fall under Implementation Objective No. 3, “Hardware and software design and development of a cloud-based tool for the collection, management, and analysis of information from a biosensor used to detect tumor marker levels characteristic of CLL,” and are as follows:
- Hardware/Software Requirements Analysis
- Definition of Project Hardware and Software Specifications
- Hardware Design and Development
- Software design and development of algorithms for transducing and processing signals from the biosensor
- Software Design of the Database and Algorithms for the Secure Collection, Management, and Analysis of Information in a Cloud Environment
- Testing and Validation of the Analysis Tool
