ENIGMA
ENIGMA – Advanced Seismic Monitoring System for Infrastructure is a project funded by the University of Bari Aldo Moro as part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), Mission 4 “Education and Research,” Component 2 “From Research to Business,” Investment Line 1.3, part of the Next Generation EU program.
ENIGMA aims to develop and implement advanced technologies for real-time seismic and infrastructure monitoring. The project falls under the priority area “022 – Research and innovation processes, technology transfer, and cooperation among businesses focused on the low-carbon economy, resilience, and adaptation to climate change,” as defined in Annex VI of Regulation (EU) 2021/241.
During the ENIGMA project, the TME Group will play a key role in the design and implementation of a state-of-the-art seismic and structural monitoring system. Our main activities will include:
- Defining Monitoring Objectives for a Selected Infrastructure
- Selection of the Most Appropriate Sensors and Monitoring Technologies
- Determining the Optimal Sensor Placement
- Installation of the Monitoring Infrastructure
- Accurate sensor calibration
- Implementation of Data Monitoring and Analysis Software
This advanced system promises to significantly improve the ability to monitor and respond to seismic risks, contributing to infrastructure safety and community resilience in the face of climate change.
