SHINE-QC

SHINE-QC – Hardware and Software Solutions for the Engineering of a Quantum Computing Platform is a project funded by the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy as part of the second call for proposals under the Innovation Agreements, as established by the Ministerial Decree of December 31, 2021.

SHINE-QC is led by TME SRL, in collaboration with leading partners: Faticoni SPA and the University of Naples “Federico II” through CESMA (Center for Advanced Metrological and Technological Services). This collaboration between industry and academia aims to position Italy at the forefront of quantum technologies.

The project focuses on two main objectives:

  • Characterization of Quantum Hardware
  • Development of an Intuitive User Interface for Quantum Programming

SHINE-QC will utilize Italy’s first full-stack 5-qubit quantum computing platform, located in Campania at the SeeQC laboratories. This unique resource will allow researchers to work on cutting-edge quantum hardware, opening up new frontiers in computing.

Interface and Objectives

The user interface currently under development will enable the definition and fine-tuning of algorithms based on the new programming paradigms required by quantum computers. This tool will be essential for making the power of quantum computing accessible to a wider audience of researchers and developers.

The SHINE-QC project aims to:

  • To enrich and promote Italy's scientific heritage in the field of quantum technologies
  • Promoting quantum innovation for the benefit of the national economy and industry
  • Position Italy as a leader in the emerging field of quantum computing

Through SHINE-QC, TME SRL reaffirms its commitment to cutting-edge technological innovation, helping to shape the future of computing and strengthen Italy’s position in the global technology landscape.
